A room, shed or small DIY clear-out
If you have bags and smaller items, compare the 2-yard and 4-yard options first. Tell us about bulky objects so we can advise on usable space.
LOCAL SKIP HIRE · WEST SUSSEX
Hiring a skip in Lancing? Choose from 2, 4, 6 and 8-yard sizes for a room clear-out, DIY project or suitable renovation waste. We explain the different waste prices and placement requirements before you book.

THE RIGHT CONTAINER FOR YOUR JOB
In Lancing, the right choice often comes down to two questions: what material is going in, and where can the lorry safely deliver the skip? A 2-yard skip suits a modest clear-out, whereas a 4-yard skip provides more room for a longer DIY job. Larger 6- and 8-yard skips are available for suitable general waste, but they are not the solution for every heavy waste stream.
Prices depend on the waste category, and a suitable delivery position is essential. For full details on skip sizes and restrictions, see our skip hire service and price guide.
CLEAR SKIP SIZES AND GUIDE PRICES
Published guide prices for mixed/general waste, before VAT. Waste type, placement and the delivery postcode must be confirmed before booking. Green waste and clean hardcore have separate rates.
HELPFUL CHOICES
Tell us what you are disposing of, where the skip will stand, and whether you have any unusual access requirements. The following examples help identify the right enquiry.
If you have bags and smaller items, compare the 2-yard and 4-yard options first. Tell us about bulky objects so we can advise on usable space.
Separate the material types before quoting. Mixed waste, green waste and clean hardcore have different pricing and acceptance rules.
Tell us if access is limited or the skip would need a public road. A highway licence may be necessary, or a booked rubbish collection might make more sense.
BEFORE DELIVERY
When requesting delivery in Lancing, send the postcode, proposed off-road location and any access limitations. Check whether parked vehicles, overhanging trees, low cables or a narrow entrance could affect delivery. If the vehicle cannot safely position the container, the team will need an alternative arrangement.
West Sussex County Council requires the skip operator to obtain a licence for a skip on the public highway or certain private streets with public access. The council normally requires at least ten working days’ notice for a standard application. Road placement is not included automatically in private-land prices. Read the official skip licence guidance.
HOW BOOKING WORKS

We check the suitable size, price including VAT, availability and any placement permission required.
With a confirmed booking, standard hire includes seven days to load suitable waste before collection.
Or describe the job and we'll pick the size. Let us know if the skip goes on your drive or the road.
On your drive or private land, or on the road with a West Sussex County Council permit.
Keep the load level with the top. Call when you're done and we collect it.
USEFUL LOCAL ANSWERS
The details customers should check before booking: size, waste acceptance, access and permits.
A 2-yard skip is worth considering for smaller volumes; a 4-yard skip provides extra space for bulky or mixed items. Tell us the waste type and approximate quantity so we can advise.
Seven days is the standard hire period included in the quoted skip price, alongside delivery and collection. Ask about any extension before the hire ends.
A highway licence is required for public-highway placement, including some ungated private streets with public access. The skip operator applies for the licence. Please raise this before booking.
Yes. If access is difficult or you would rather not load a skip, ask about our separate rubbish-removal and house-clearance services in the area.
No. Do not put soil or hardcore in the 6- or 8-yard general-waste options. Ask about a suitable smaller hardcore-only option before hiring.

Drawn next to someone 1.75m tall, because an 8-yard skip looks a lot bigger on a driveway than it does in a price list.
